PAKISTAN THALASSAEMIA CENTRE

Thalassemia is an inherited blood illness in which the body produces an aberrant form of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying protein found in red blood cells. Anemia is caused by the disorder’s excessive breakdown of red blood cells. Anemia is a condition in which your body lacks sufficient amounts of normal, healthy Red Blood Cells (RBC). This is an inherited disease, which means that at least one of the parents is a carrier. It’s caused by a genetic mutation or the loss of certain essential genes. According to research, roughly 100,000 people in Pakistan have Thalassaemia, and 5,000 newborns are born with the disease each year. These people require blood transfusions and iron supplements on a regular basis.

DAR-UL-EHSAAS

Pakistan has a long history of caring for orphans and youngsters who have lost contact with their parents. Pakistan has taken a number of steps to meet its obligations after signing the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. The PBM Act was enacted in 1991. (as amended) Clause 4 (d) states that the funds in the Bait-ul-Mal will be used to provide residential housing and required facilities to the people listed in clause 4(a), i.e. destitute and needy widows and orphans, throughout the country, with 100 orphan children (ages 4-6) in each.
